Building Maintenance & Repair
Our Building Maintenance and Repair program prepares students for an entry-level maintenance & repair career as a professional working in the residential, apartment, and hotel industry. Students acquire hands-on repair skills in structural, mechanical and electrical applications.
Students will use these skills to gain experience in air-conditioning, heating systems, tiling, flooring, plumbing and general building repairs. Students will learn state and international plumbing standards and building codes. Students will also study Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) refrigerant standards, which will allow them to become certified which is a requirement for technicians to work on air-conditioning systems.
The purpose of the Building & Maintenance Repair vocational school program is to provide entry-level job skills to trainees for employment as entry-level maintenance technicians. Our objectives are meant to keep your training relevant to related industries here in Hampton Roads.
Emphasis is placed on the following workforce skills.
- Structural Building Repair
- Plumbing Applications
- Tiling, Flooring and General Repairs
- Residential Electrical Systems
- Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Tidewater Tech Trades is accredited by the Council of Occupational Education (COE).
Tidewater Tech Trades is also an authorized certification testing center for the following certification:
- EPA Technician Certification
